Virat Kohli responds to Sir Vivian Richards’ “Amazing” tweet on his sublime knock vs West Indies

Former West Indies legend Sir Vivian Richards, on Friday, took to Twitter to praise Indian skipper Virat Kohli after he stamped his authority with yet another sublime knock as India pulled off their highest successful run chase in a T20I to beat West Indies by six wickets.

“Amazing. Just amazing, @imVkohli,” Viv Richards tweeted after the match.

Responding to Richards’ compliment, Kohli thanked him for the praises and said that this means a lot to him.

“Thanks big BOSS. Coming from you means a lot,” Kohli’s reply read.

Kohli leads from the front, India draw first blood

Chasing a massive total of 208, India lost the wicket of opener Rohit Sharma early. Captain Kohli and KL Rahul added a century stand for the second wicket. The Men in Maroon then struck back by removing Rahul (62), after which wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was involved in a 48-run third-wicket partnership with Kohli.

Even though Pant and Shreyas Iyer were dismissed in quick succession, the Indian skipper did not lose his focus and anchored the run chase well as he took the attack to the West Indian bowlers. In the end, he took the Men in Blue past the finish line with eight balls to spare. He remained unbeaten on a 50-ball 94 at a strike rate of 188, which included six fours and the same number of sixes.
