Team India captain Virat Kohli has always made it clear that former skipper MS Dhoni will always remain an inspiration for him and his tweet on the latter’s birthday this year has been announced as the most Retweeted sports-related Tweet of 2019 by Twitter India.
On Tuesday, Twitter made the announcement on their social media platform and wrote: “In the world of sports, this Tweet from @imVkohli stole people’s hearts becoming the most Retweeted sports-related Tweet.”
Kohli had taken to Twitter to wish Dhoni on July 7: “Happy birthday mahi bhai @msdhoni. Very few people understand the meaning of trust and respect and I’m glad to have had the friendship I have with you for so many years. You’ve been a big brother to all of us and as I said before, you will always be my captain,” the Indian skipper wrote.

Kohli and Dhoni have unrivaled popularity in the country owing to their performances on the field and their persona off it. Both have a massive following in terms of followers on social media and their tweets and videos on either Twitter or Instagram have many people involved.
MSD has not played for India since the 2019 World Cup semifinal and it seems that he won’t be in contention at least until January 2020. Even the MSK Prasad led selection panel had said that they are backing Rishabh Pant and have moved on from the two-time World Cup-winning former skipper.
