Mitchell Starc propelled Australia to an emphatic 296-run win over New Zealand in Perth’s first-ever day-night Test, ending the match with nine wickets.
Starc, who took five wickets in the first innings, followed it up with 4-45 in the second as the visitors, set a target of 468 to win, were bundled out for a paltry 171.
Off-spinner Nathan Lyon was also instrumental, taking the key wicket of Black Caps skipper Kane Williamson in his 4-63.
Travis Head takes a brilliant catch at silly point, celebrates it with ‘Baby Shark’
On the fourth delivery of 40th over, Nathan Lyon bowled a tossed up delivery outside off stump to Henry Nicolls. The ball hit the batsman’s pads and went up in the air for a short time.
Meanwhile, Travis Head, who was positioned at silly point, reacted quickly and just managed to get his fingers underneath the ball before it touched the ground.
The umpire ruled him out instantly, but Nicholls was not convinced as the matter was referred to the third umpire. The TV umpire then asked the on-field umpire to stay with his original decision as a stunned Nicholls went back to the pavilion.
