Rohit Sharma trolls Mumbai Indians after they stack up their team in IPL 2020 auction

The auction of the biggest money-spinning cricket tournament in the world, Indian Premier League (IPL), took place in Kolkata on Thursday.

Australian pacer Pat Cummins was the most expensive buy at the IPL 2020 auction, followed by his teammate Glenn Maxwell. Cummins was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a whopping Rs 15.5 crore, while Maxwell went to Kings XI Punjab for Rs 10.75 crore.

Chris Lynn, the swashbuckling opener from Australia, was the first player to go under the hammer. Mumbai Indians (MI) bought him at his base price of Rs 2 crore. Nathan Coulter-Nile was the other Australian bought by the Mumbai-based franchise, who roped him in for Rs 8 crore after bidding war with Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

MI skipper Rohit Sharma also had fun during the auctions. Hitman was seen following the bidding on the franchise’s Instagram page. During the Insta-live, Rohit was seen commenting twice. First, he mentioned, ‘Where will Rohit Sharma bat’ and later ‘Nation wants to know.’

The 32-year-old Sharma has mostly been a floater for MI. In IPL 2019, he opened the innings with wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock. Earlier, he used to come in to bat at number 3 or 4. However, in IPL 2020, the team has picked up the destructive Chris Lynn. Hence, Rohit might go back to his usual position in the IPL.
