Team India opener Rohit Sharma on Monday posted a heartfelt note for his daughter Samaira on the occasion of her first birthday.
“Happy happy birthday to my little Cookie Monster. Your arrival has brought nothing but excitement, laughter and bliss to our lives. Here’s to more midnight dancing, rapping and showing you the world @ritssajdeh,” Rohit wrote his social media post as he shared a few pictures of Samaira.

After marrying Ritika Sajdeh on December 13 in 2015, Rohit became a proud father on December 30, 2018. The 32-year-old then missed the Sydney Test against Australia as he flew back home to attend his wife. Later, he re-joined the squad on January 8 for the ODI series which India won by a margin of 2-1.
On the work front, Rohit will return to national duty for the ODI series against Australia next month. He has been rested for the T20I series against Sri Lanka, starting from January 5, 2020.
In 2019, Rohit pipped Virat Kohli to finish as the highest ODI run-scorer. He accumulated 2,442 runs across formats this year. In the process, the Mumbai batsman had surpassed Sri Lankan great Sanath Jayasuriya’s 22-year-old record for most runs as an opener in a calendar year across formats. He scored 10 centuries across formats, including five in the World Cup this year.
