Ross Taylor provided a brief bright light on New Zealand’s tour of Australia 2019-20, moving to the top of his country’s all-time run-scoring charts.
But the former Kiwi skipper had a precious little time to savor the achievement out in the middle, bowled by Pat Cummins with an absolute peach of a delivery immediately after registering his name into the record books.
Taylor went past Stephen Fleming as New Zealand’s most prolific Test batsman before being losing his stumps for 22.

Meanwhile, Nathan Lyon bagged five for 50 and 10 wickets in the match to guide Australia to a crushing 279-run victory over the Black Caps to sweep the three-Test series in Sydney on Monday.
The off-spinner led the powerful Australian bowling attack to dismiss the Kiwis for 136 and seal another massive win against the tourists after similar victories in Perth and Melbourne.
Earlier, the Aussies declared their second innings at 217 for two, with David Warner scoring an unbeaten century, leaving New Zealand with a mammoth 416-run target in the fourth innings on a wearing Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) pitch.
