BCCI, Shikhar Dhawan and others pay tribute to Team India’s superfan Charulata Patel

The Indian cricket team has lost one of its special supporters, Mrs. Charulata Patel. She was 87-year-old and passed away on January 13.

Popularly known as ‘Cricket Dadi,’ Charulata showcased her enthusiasm and passion towards cricket in the 2019 World Cup.

Charulata was first spotted in a match between India and Bangladesh at Edgbaston last year. She was seen cheering for the ‘Men in Blue’ with full energy. Her pictures of blowing air horn with tri-color painted on her face went viral.

After the match, both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma met the superfan and took her blessings. The Indian skipper was so happy that he arranged tickets for Charulata and her family for the next game and even pinned a heartwarming note.

After her demise, cricketers, BCCI, ICC, and others paid tributes to the energetic fan.
