IND vs AUS 2020: WATCH – Manish Pandey takes a one-handed stunner to dismiss David Warner

Manish Pandey, who is one of the best fielders in Team India, took a stunning catch to get rid of the last match’s centurion David Warner during the second ODI in Rajkot on Friday.

This all happened in the fourth over of the Australian run-chase. On the second delivery, Indian pacer Mohammed Shami bowled a short one outside off stump, and Warner played it aggressively on the off-side. The ball had hit the middle of the bat, and the timing on it was also superb, but Warner made the mistake of playing the shot close to Pandey, who was fielding at cover-point.

The 30-year-old jumped his timing to perfection and managed to grab a stunner even as the ball was traveling at a rate of knots. Rather it happened in a split second, and stupendous reaction from Pandey also left Warner stunned.

“Oh, What a catch! Well, well, well, that ball was flying somewhere, and almost like an elastic arm, something went up and backed the ball down. He outstretched his arms high to his right”, said the commentators on air.

Earlier, India didn’t repeat the mistakes they committed in Mumbai, and most importantly, captain Virat Kohli batted at number three. Opener Shikhar Dhawan carried his affair with Australia and slammed 96 runs. He was unfortunate not to get to the three-figure mark. But his innings set the platform with Kohli also scoring 78 runs. However, KL Rahul injected the much-needed life into the Indian innings batting at five.

The Karnataka batsman took on the Aussie bowlers to the cleaners and scored 80 runs off just 52 balls. It was his knock that India managed to score 340 runs for the loss of six wickets. Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers for Australia who returned with impressive figures of 3/50 in his ten overs.
