When former Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly asked the great Rahul Dravid to bat at different positions, he did; when Ganguly asked Dravid to play the role of a wicket-keeper, he did. A similar story is now being repeated between Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
Rahul has batted as an opener, at No.3, No.4, and No.5. Not only this, but he was also asked to keep the wickets in the absence of Rishabh Pant, and the Karnataka-born did that as well.
The fans have started comparing him with Dravid.
After the completion of the second ODI between India and Australia, Rahul was asked about the comparison with ‘The Wall,’ to which he answered, “It’s great to be compared with someone like Dravid.”
“Yeah, it was very obvious, and I’ve had this comparison for a long time. Growing up playing cricket as well, you know the names, he’s Rahul Dravid, I’m Rahul, so the comparison has always been there,” said Rahul.
“He (Dravid) is someone who I’ve spent a lot of time with, working on, not working, but talking about cricket, talking about batting. Coming from the state as well, I have the opportunity to go to him, or give him a call or talk to him about batting, or anything about cricket, so he’s been more than welcome, and it’s great to be compared to somebody like that,” added Rahul.

During the second ODI, Rahul played a blistering knock of 80 from 51 balls to help India reach 340. The Virat Kohli-led team then successfully defended the total and thrashed the Aussies by 36 runs. Rahul for his outstanding display of cricket was gratified with the ‘Man of the Match’ award.
