On Friday, India openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma suffered injuries during the second ODI against Australia, raising an alarm ahead of the series decider in Bengaluru.
While Dhawan was hit in the ribs by a short ball from Pat Cummins, Rohit injured his left shoulder while diving near the rope to stop a boundary in Australia’s run chase.
But the good news for all Indian fans is that the BCCI has provided a positive injury update on the duo just hours before the series finale.
“Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are progressing well. Their recovery is being closely monitored, and a call on their participation in the final ODI will be taken tomorrow before the match,” said the BCCI providing an update on Rohit and Dhawan’s injury.
In case both or even one of them is not fully fit before the start of the third ODI, India will have to shuffle their batting order once again. Probably ask in-form KL Rahul to rechange his position after batting at No.5 in the last game and promote someone from the middle-order to open with him.
