After losing the opening test against Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe made a strong comeback in the second and last game of the two-match series.
Captain Sean Williams led from the front and smashed his career’s second Test century. Under his guidance, the host team reached a lusty total of 406.
After the early blows, middle-order batsman Sikandar Raza and skipper Williams joined hands to take their team out of trouble. The duo added a 159-run stand.
Raza missed out to convert his well-made 72 into a triple-figure, however, Williams didn’t lose his concentration and scored a hundred.

When Zimbabwe reached 324, they lost their sixth wicket in the form of Williams (107). Sri Lanka had a chance to fold up the tail quickly, but they failed to do so as the bottom four batsmen added 82 runs.

Lasith Embuldeniya was the leading wicket-taker for Sri Lanka. The left-arm spinner scalped four wickets. Batting all-rounder Dhananjaya de Silva showed some bowling skills in the contest and grabbed three important wickets. Medium-pacer Suranga Lakmal joined the party as well by sending two Zimbabwean batsmen back into the pavilion.
