The social media activity of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday morning sparked intense rumours of them getting renamed ahead of IPL 2020 – from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
RCB, meanwhile, responded to all such speculations with a series of posts on their Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Earlier, netizens expressed their reactions when the Bengaluru-based team led by Virat Kohli removed Bangalore from their social media accounts.
RCB skipper Kohli, who is currently leading India against the Black Caps in New Zealand, took to Twitter to express his ‘shock’ to see massive changes in his team’s Twitter handle.
“Posts disappear and the captain is not informed. Let me know if you need any help,” tweeted Kohli.

Top-order batsman AB de Villiers too took to Twitter to express his ‘shock’ at the sudden changes made by his IPL franchise. “Folks @rcbtweets, what’s happened to our social media accounts? Hope it is just a strategy break,” tweeted the Proteas star.

Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was in ‘shock’ as well. “Arre @rcbtweets what googly is this? Where did your profile pic and Instagram posts go?” tweeted Yuzi.
