Top 10 Women cricketers with most runs in T20 internationals

The seventh edition of the 2020 International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s T20 World Cup (WC) is scheduled to take place in Australia from February 21.

This time, a total of ten teams – Australia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, England, West Indies, South Africa, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand – will fight out for the coveted trophy.

For the first time in the history of the tournament, the Thailand women’s cricket team has qualified for the mega event. Before the main show, ten warm-up games will be played between February 15 and February 20.

All teams have been split into two groups. While Australia, India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh form Group A, England, South Africa, West Indies, Pakistan and Thailand are in Group B.

The inaugural WC took place in England, where the hosts defeated New Zealand by six wickets. Since then, there have been five WC tournaments where Australia have won four and West Indies have one.

Before we head on to the showpiece event, let’s have a look at the top scorers in the shortest format of the game.
New Zealand’s Suzie Bates leads the table with 3000-plus runs. She is the only women cricketer to cross the 3000-run mark in the international T20s.

The Caribbean batter Stefanie Taylor is on the second spot with 2900 runs, while Australian captain Meg Lanning sits at the third spot in the list with 2600-plus runs.

Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur are the only two Indian batters in this list with 2364 and 2156 runs, respectively.
