Heather Knight becomes the first centurion in Women’s T20 World Cup 2020; cricket fraternity reacts

England captain Heather Knight smashed the first century in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on Wednesday. This was also her maiden century in T20 internationals. Knight’s unbeaten 108 helped her side to post the biggest total (176-2) of Women’s T20 WC 2020.

After being asked to bat first by Thailand, Knight came to the middle when England were in trouble as they had lost both the openers for just 7. However, then she added an unbeaten 169-run partnership with Natalie Sciver (59).

Knight also became the seventh English woman to cross 1000 T20I runs.

For Thailand, only Nattaya Boochatham and Soraya Lateh were able to bag wickets. All-rounder Chanida Sutthiruang was the most expensive, giving 37 runs in 3 overs at an economy of 12.33.
