Former India captain Rahul Dravid was known for consistency in cricket, and it seems his son Samit Dravid is following his father’s footsteps. He is shining at the school level cricket in Karnataka with his constant performances.
Samit, who recently grabbed headlines after smashing two double centuries in two months, continued his magnificent run with an all-round show to help his school, Mallya Aditi International, reach the semi-finals of the BTR Shield Under-14 Group I, Division II Tournament against Vidyashilp Academy.
Samit scored 166 runs off 131 balls with 24 boundaries. He also took four wickets for 35 runs and won the contest for his team. Apart from Samit, Anvay D also slammed a vital half-century, however, he missed out to reach three figures by just 10 runs.
Courtesy of Samit’s excellent show, Mallya Aditi International School, posted a humongous total of 330-5 in 50 overs. In reply, Vidyashilp Academy were bundled out for 182 in 38.5 overs.
The 14-year-old scored 201 while playing for Vice-President’s XI against Dharwad Zone in an Under-14 inter-zonal tournament in December 2019.
Samit rose to fame in 2015 at the U-12 level cricket in Bengaluru after he slammed three half-centuries for his school. Then, in 2016, Samit came into the limelight again when he represented Bangalore United Cricket Club, where he slammed 125 against Frank Anthony Public School.
