Australia’s spinner Ashton Agar has shown incredible performance in the recently concluded T20 series against South Africa, and that has helped him to gain six spots to reach No.4 in the latest released International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I rankings on Thursday.
Agar took eight wickets at an average of 8.50 in the series. He became the second Australian to take a T20I hat-trick after Brett Lee, who achieved the feat in the 2007 World Cup. He also claimed his first-ever five-wicket haul in the shortest format of the game.
South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi also jumped three places and reached the fifth spot while the Aussie leggie Adam Zampa sealed No.3 position.
Afghanistan’s spin duo of Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman, remains at the top two places.
Among batsmen, Australia captain Aaron Finch secured the third spot, and he’s just behind KL Rahul and Babar Azam, who sits at the second and top positions, respectively.
Apart from Rahul, India skipper Virat Kohli is also in the top-10 list, sitting at the last spot.
