India’s talismanic wicket-keeper batsman, MS Dhoni, finally resumed his training for the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
It will be the 11th time that MS Dhoni will lead the Chennai Super Kings during his glorious 13-year career in the cash-rich league, where he clinched the IPL title three times.
MSD’s last prominent cricketing appearance was against New Zealand in the semi-finals of the World Cup held in England last year.
Since his heart-breaking run-out in the match, Dhoni has not played any competitive match during his sabbatical from the game.

This edition of the IPL will be important for Dhoni as selectors will be keeping an eye on his touch and form. A good IPL 2020 season increases Dhoni’s chances to feature in the T20 World Cup in Australia later this year in October.
Before ‘Thala’ Dhoni entered the ground, die-hard CSK fans were already present in the ground to witness the much-anticipated return of their king to the cricketing field.

Dhoni struck a couple of massive hits to treat the spectators present in the stadium. Along with Dhoni, other Indian stars in the CSK squad, such as Piyush Chawla, Murali Vijay, and Suresh Raina, also resumed their training.
