India’s young sensation Shafali Verma has impressed many with her outstanding display of fearless and aggressive batting in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. She is the third leading run-scorer (161) in the tournament after England’s Natalie Sciver (202) and Heather Knight (193).
The 16-year-old has amassed runs with the highest strike-rate of 161 in the mega event. Also, Shafali has struck the maximum number of sixes (9) in the competition.
Due to such high-class batting, the Rohtak-born has risen 19 places to claim the top spot among batters in the latest released T20I rankings by ICC. She has earned 761 rating points.
Apart from Shafali, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues are the other Indians in the to-10 batters list, though both have fallen to two places and reached sixth and ninth positions, respectively.

Among bowlers, another youngster naming Sophie Ecclestone has sealed the top spot. England’s left-arm spin bowler Sophie has taken eight wickets in the current Women’s T20 World Cup and is sitting at the second spot among leading wicket-takers after India’s Poonam Yadav (9).
Speaking about Poonam, the veteran spinner jumped four places to capture the eight position with 704 rating points. Apart from her, Radha Yadav is at the seventh spot, while Deepti Sharma is at No.5.
