As Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India is all set to take on the defending champions Australia in the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 on Sunday (March 8), Mithali Raj – India women’s team captain in the 50 overs format – shared an inspirational message for the Girls in Blue on social media.
A promotional campaign for the 2020 International Women’s Day, featuring Mithali, has been doing rounds on social media – where the Indian veteran can be seen breaking stereotypes as she was seen batting in a saree.
In the video, Mithali can be seen showing her range of strokes dressed in traditional Indian attire; she also sported a bindi on her forehead with full cricket gear, sharing a strong message that a woman can do anything.
In the end, Raj wished good luck to India Women for Women’s T20 World Cup final, urging them to bring ‘the trophy home’. “Let’s show the world that we can do it too. Come on, Team India. Let”s bring the trophy home,” she said in the video.
