WATCH: Australia women’s cricket team celebrating T20 World Cup win with Katy Perry

Australia successfully defended the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup by defeating India Women by 85 runs in the summit clash, which was played at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Opting to bat first, Australia Women posted a mammoth 185/4 in 20 overs after blistering knocks by openers Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney as the duo scored 75 off 39 and 78 not-out off 54 respectively to help the host nation post a mammoth target.

While India Women had the fire-power to chase down the total, they crumbled under the pressure of finals. The Women in Blue were eventually bundled out for a paltry 99 with Australia Women registering an emphatic 99-run win to lift the coveted trophy for the record fifth time.

After the post-match presentation ceremony, global music superstar Katy Perry performed live on stage with the Aussie cricketers.

As the 35-year-old Perry took to the stage at the end of the Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup final in Melbourne, fans were left stunned.

Many watching the telecast at home and in the stadium were bowled over by the pop star’s energetic performance even during her pregnancy, with several taking to Twitter to praise her.
