New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson, who was placed under isolation amidst fear of COVID-19, has been cleared after being tested negative.
The right-arm pacer had complained of the sore throat after the completion of the first One-Day International (ODI) between New Zealand and Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday (March 13).
In the match, Australia managed to defeat Kiwis and led the three-match series of Chappell-Hadlee Trophy 1-0. However, now the series has been postponed due to coronavirus scare.
Ferguson will fly to New Zealand from Sydney on Sunday. At the same time, the rest of the BlackCaps squad will leave Australia on Saturday night as the New Zealand government imposed a lockdown due to the outbreak of deadly disease.
