Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg was in India a few days ago for the Road Safety World Series, but due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the tournament got postponed. Hogg was a part of Australia Legends captained by former pacer Brett Lee.
Since there is no cricket around at present, Hogg took to social media platform Twitter to interact with his fans in the meantime. The 49-year-old received many questions, and he answered as much as possible.
A fan asked Hogg to rate the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Pakistan Super League (PSL).
“if u give points to cricket leagues, Then how much for PSL and IPL,” a fan asked former Aussie player.
Veteran spinner replied to the query and rated both the leagues 9 out of 10 as he opined that the PSL bought the game back to Pakistan, whereas the IPL has the highest viewership worldwide.
“Both 9 out of 10. The PSL has been the most prevalent of late because it has bought the game back to Pakistan. The IPL has the most interest in viewership worldwide,” tweeted Hogg.

Another fan asked Hogg about IPL’s long format and due to which he reckons gets boring at one stage. The fan further asked that T20 leagues should be just one month long.
“Don’t you think IPL is losing its charm? IPL is getting way too long, at times, it’s boring. T20 league’s should be just 1 month long, don’t you think so?” a fan asked the Western Australian.

Hogg, who had played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the lucrative league, responded to the fan’s query and agreed with his opinion that franchise T20 cricket should be short. But Hogg rated IPL as a different tournament and said India’s vast population could afford IPL to be a longer tournament as compared to the rest.
“Agreed. Short tournaments for Franchise T20 cricket is the way to go. I feel the IPL is different with the population of India putting it in a different position to others; it can afford to be longer as it gets more interest than some of the international series India play,” tweeted Hogg.
