In a recent interaction on social media, former Australian International Tom Moody named the player of the modern era, when asked by one of the Twitter users.
The coach turned commentator, picked Indian skipper Virat Kohli as the player of the generation, and claimed that the Indian skipper ‘owns’ white-ball cricket.
Moody chose Kohli over the likes of Steve Smith, Kane Williamson, and Joe Root were all the options above provided by the user. The quartet is part of the modern-day ‘Fab Four’ of world batting.
“All brilliant players in their own right Shivam, but in saying that @imVkohli owns white-ball cricket! At just 31 yrs with already 43 #ODI 100’s it’s hard to see him not breaking it if he remains fit.,” Moody tweeted.

Despite his poor show with the bat in recent New Zealand tour, Kohli firmly remains head and shoulders above the rest.
The Indian number three hold pole position in the ODI Rankings and is amongst the top 10 in the T20I rankings. India’s premier all-format opener Rohit Sharma follows Kohli in the number two position of the ODI rankings.
However, Kohli underwent his worst tour abroad, surpassing his lean patch in England back in 2014, where he fell prey to James Anderson repeatedly.
Kohli is slated to lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Unfortunately, due to the immediate scare of COVID-19 pandemic, all sporting actions are in a standstill.
