With the deadly Covid-19 spreading across the globe, the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in a televised address on Thursday, urged citizens to follow “Janata curfew” on Sunday (March 22) to contain the coronavirus outbreak.
‘Janta Curfew’ is a kind of a public curfew which is meant to encourage people to practice social distancing, keep away from crowds, and stay at home as much as possible in the coming weeks. PM requested all citizens to stay indoors for 14 hours from 7 am to 9 pm.
After Modi’s appeal, many cricketers took to Twitter and requested their fans to follow the orders. Former cricketers Mohammad Kaif and Yuvraj Singh also joined the list and urged the same to people in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
After which, the Prime Minister hailed the efforts of both Kaif and Yuvraj and said, “iIt’s time for another partnership.”
“Here are 2 excellent cricketers whose partnership we will remember forever. Now, as they have said, it is time for another partnership. This time, all of India will be partners in the fight against Coronavirus,” tweeted PM Modi.

The partnership PM Modi referred to in his tweet was from the Natwest final way back in 2002, where Kaif and Yuvraj stitched a crucial 121-run partnership against England after India were struggling at 146 for 5. The efforts of the duo helped India to win the match by 2 wickets with three balls to spare. This game is considered as one of the best One-Day Internationals in the history of cricket.
