Brad Hogg picks the best all-rounder between Hardik Pandya and Ben Stokes

These days cricketers from across the globe are spending their time at home due to coronavirus outbreak. They are either in self-isolation or spending time with their loved ones. In the process, many cricketers are trying to engage with fans on social media and answering their questions.

Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg also belongs to that group of cricketers who are constantly interacting with fans on the microblogging website, Twitter. Recently he ran a Q/A session where Hogg tried to respond to many queries posted by his fans and followers.

During the session, a fan asked the Western Australian to pick the best all-rounder of modern-day cricket between England’s Ben Stokes and India’s Hardik Pandya.

“@Brad_Hogg Who is better as an All-rounder, Hardik Pandya or Ben Stokes??” the fan wrote.

While responding to the question, Hogg picked Stokes and said that Hardik has huge potential, but Stokes would be in his World XI team as the England all-rounder has more international exposure.

“I have to go with the Englishman on this one. Hardik has huge potential, but hasn’t played enough international cricket to challenge Stokes as the all-rounder of my World XI,” Hogg tweeted.

Stokes had a tremendous 2019 World Cup. In 11 games, the southpaw accumulated 465 runs – third most by an English player in the campaign.

Stokes also smashed 84 runs in the final against New Zealand to guide his side lift their maiden 50-over World Cup trophy. The 28-year-old was also named BBC’s sports personality of the year in December 2019 and ICC’s cricketer of the year in January 2020.

Hardik Pandya, on the other hand, has been away from international cricket since his surgery in October. The star all-rounder was added in the India squad for the three-match ODI series against South Africa, but it was called off due to the coronavirus pandemic.
