Ravichandran Ashwin wittily reminds India citizens to stay at home in 21-days lockdown

The deadly Covid-19 has spread like wildfire across the world, and to stay away from the fatal disease, various authorities have asked everyone to pursue self-isolation. Public figures such as cricketers are also following the isolation process and, at the same time, inspiring fans to support government orders.

In the wake of the current situation, the Indian government has taken the strongest measures. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Tuesday, to declare that the entire country will be under lockdown for the upcoming 21 days.

Post the PM’s speech, many cricketers urged people to follow the lockdown and stay in their homes.
Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also requested fans to support the lockdown and asked them to stay inside.

However, in the process, Ashwin made a humorous reference to the ‘Mankad’ incident he pursued in the IPL last year to warn people of the dangers of stepping out of their houses. The offie has also changed the name of his Twitter handle to “let’s stay indoors, India.”

“Hahaha, somebody sent me this and told me it’s exactly been 1 year since this run out happened. As the nation goes into a lockdown, this is a good reminder to my citizens. Don’t wander out. Stay inside, stay safe! #21DayLockdown, ” tweeted Ashwin.

Earlier, Indian captain Virat Kohli took to social media and urged fans to stay inside as the country aims to end the gradually increasing Coronavirus.

Virat, along with his wife and Bollywood star Anushka Sharma, posted a video on Twitter and wrote: “These are testing times and we need to wake up to the seriousness of this situation. Please let us all follow what’s been told to us and stand united, please. It’s a plea to everyone.”
