The world is going through a turbulent time with the outbreak of the COVID-19. But it is the poor and the daily wage earners who are currently suffering the most with the lockdown imposed.
All human activities have been put on a halt presently. It is only now that the world needs compassion, benevolence, and humanitarian acts more than ever.
With the same intention, Pakistan’s cricketing icon, Shahid Afridi, took a great initiative of distributing ration amongst 200 needy people in Pakistan.
Afridi is renowned for his philanthropic activities with the Shahid Afridi Foundation and was seen wearing the mask, distributing food in his latest post on Twitter.
“Day 3 of serving the needy: packs containing disinfectant soap, material, food & a sheet on preventative measures to take to avoid the contraction & spread of #CoronaVirus were included, with advice to stay at home. Let’s pull together & serve others too #DonateKaroNa #HopeNotOut,” captioned Afridi’s post.

And, Afridi’s old foe from cricketing days, former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, acknowledged Afridi’s effort during a time of crisis.
“Great work for humanity @SAfridiOfficial May god bless us all.. more power to you.. praying for world’s well being.. Nanak naam chardikala tere bhaane sarbat da bhala,” Bhajji stated while retweeting Afridi’s post.

Recently, Gautam Gambhir pledged to donate INR 50 lakhs for the treatment of COVID-19 victims. In the absence of cricketing action, all significant cricketing icons have been doing their part in spreading awareness and appealing not to go outside the house.
