On 3rd April 2016, West Indies all-rounder Carlos Braithwaite became a national hero after dramatically winning the World T20 title for his country in the most emphatic fashion.
The Windies and England squared off at the Eden Gardens in India for the summit clash with the ultimate prize up for grabs.
The English batsmen were out in the middle first, reaching a total of 155-9 in their 20 overs.
In reply, the Caribbean innings got off to a horror start as they slumped to 11-3. A bit of a recovery in the middle phase of their innings got the Men in Marron back on track somewhat, but they remained far behind the required run-rate.
Marlon Samuels kept his team in the contest with a half-century, but it was left to Brathwaite to deliver the killer blow in the final over of the match.
With 19 runs required off the final six deliveries, England all-rounder Ben Stokes steamed in to get his team over the line.
But, the right-handed Brathwaite had other ideas as he smashed four massive consecutive sixes to take the West Indies over the line with two balls remaining.
The unexpected cameo handed the West Indies their second T20 World Cup, while Brathwaite wrote his name into the history books in the process.
Meanwhile, Stokes on the fourth anniversary of 2016 World T20 final, recounted when he conceded four consecutive sixes against West Indies all-rounder Brathwaite to lose the showpiece event.
On Friday, Stokes quoted the tweet of ESPNcricinfo and wrote: “It’s that day again…happy 4 year anniversary here’s to many more happy year’s in the future.”

Stokes’ reaction on the tweet came as a surprise for the cricket fans since it is one of the most unpleasant moments of the English all-rounder’s career thus far.
