Virat Kohli in 2016 was a run-scoring beast when he scaled such heights that he may never surpass. In that year, he notched up double centuries in Test cricket for fun, took India to the semi-finals single-handedly in the T20 World Cup, as well as scored four T20 tons in the IPL.

During a recent chat with Kevin Pietersen on Instagram Live, Kohli was asked to single out his ‘most fun’ knock thus far.

To which Kohli named one of four tons, which came against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) during a rain-curtailed match at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Kohli in 2016, singly took Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to the finals of the tournament by amassing a record tally of 973 runs.

With several stitches in his hands, Kohli smashed a 50-ball 113, where he smashed 12 boundaries and eight gigantic sixes, propelling RCB’s score to 213 in just 15 overs.

“I scored a century against KXIP in a match that was for 12 or 14 overs. I was hitting it so well. I just went on. I never felt like that before. I felt like I would never get out. That was fun,” Kohli revealed.

Kohli’s purple patch was so good that David Warner’s tally of 850+ runs came second in the race for the Orange Cap. Warner would have snatched the Orange Cap any day with such a momentous tally in the season which is the second-highest in the history of IPL.
