West Indies’ all-rounder Dwayne Bravo recently stated that he has never received the kind of family atmosphere he gets while playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The ‘Champion’ cricketer said this when he participated in an Instagram live chat organised by CSK.
During the chat with anchor Rupha Ramani, Bravo stated that right from his very first day when he joined the ‘Yellow Brigade’, he never felt like there is not a family connection in the team.
“From the very first day when I joined the team, I got that sense of family atmosphere. Every player who joins CSK feels the same way,” said Bravo.
Bravo expressed that he has played in so many T20 leagues and spent time with so many franchises, but no other team provides the kind of atmosphere CSK offers.
“You are welcomed here like an extended family. I have played a lot of cricket, but I don’t think you can get another team or environment like in CSK,” the Trinidadian cricketer added.
Bravo also gave credit to CSK behind his successful stint with Trinbago Knight Riders – a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) franchise. The 36-year-old led Trinbago Knight Riders to three titles and expressed that he tried to bring the culture of CSK into his CPL team.
“It’s important that you have a management team, the owners, the captain’s everyone understands you. They understand its a sport, and you don’t perform every time, but they give you that opportunity to bounce back,” Bravo added further.
Bravo also enunciated that the Chennai-based franchise allows every individual player to be itself and that helps in the long run.
“The good thing with CSK is that it allows everybody to be themselves. We all enjoy each other’s success; whoever is performing, we celebrate all performances together,” concluded Bravo.
