The lockdown period in India that was supposed to end on May 3 has been extended for another two weeks due to the dire situation in the country. According to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), nearly 40,000 people have tested positive for coronavirus in India with over 1,200 people falling prey to the deadly virus.
All the sporting events in the world have been called off indefinitely. The BCCI has also suspended IPL 2020 for an indefinite period, which has given the cricketers some time off.
Well, cricketers are making the most of this time by interacting with their fans on social media. Recently, Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli, Kevin Pietersen and AB de Villiers had gone live on Instagram where they discussed various topics. The latest cricketer to join the bandwagon is S. Sreesanth, where he answered a lot of interesting questions.
While speaking to the host of a live interactive session on Helo app, Sreesanth was asked to pick a batsman from international cricket who has the ability, skill set and calibre to score a triple century in ODI cricket.
It was apparent that Sreesanth would pick Team India vice-captain Rohit Sharma among the potential candidates who can score a triple hundred in ODIs as the latter has three double centuries and the highest individual ODI score of 264 registered to his name. But Sreesanth snubbed Rohit and didn’t include him in his list.
Sreesanth, meanwhile, said in his opinion Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are the two players that can achieve the impossible-looking streak. The Kerela lad added that Ben Stokes is one of the overseas cricketers, who might also hit a triple century in ODIs. “Maybe Virat Kohli, KL Rahul. Ben Stokes also have a chance,” the 37-year-old former Indian pacer said.
While picking Kohli was understandable given the Indian captain’s highest ODI score reads 183, Rahul (112) and Stokes (102) were certainly the surprise pick. Interestingly, none of the batsmen picked by Sreesanth has scored a double century yet.
