Sreesanth has picked the right guy, as per him, to lead India after Virat Kohli, the current captain bids farewell to international cricket.

Virat is currently 31 and had once revealed that the age wouldn’t play a role in his retirement decision, but his urge to play the sport. Once the right-handed batsman stops feeling the same passion from inside, he will hang his boots.

In a live session with a journalist on Helo App, Sreesanth was asked to pick one player that he feels can lead Team India after Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The question read: “After Kohli and Rohit, who do you seem as a future captain for India?”

To which, Kerala-born cricketer gave a pleasing response and said that KL Rahul is the perfect one to lead Team India across formats in the upcoming years.

Sreesanth feels that the Karnataka-born player is quite responsible and can bat at any position. The 37-year-old also added that Rahul follows the same work ethics that of Kohli and he thinks about the team instead of his achievements.

“KL Rahul, because he is good all the three formats, he is responsible…in whatever number he is playing. Rahul has the same work ethic as of Virat,” Sreesanth said during the live session.

Currently, Kohli and Co. are eyeing the upcoming T20 World Cup. If the coronavirus pandemic gets over and everything comes back to normal, cricket fanatics may witness the T20 World Cup this year in Australia as per the schedule, i.e. from October 18 to November 15.
