Following the recent social media movement amongst cricketers, Indian batsmen KL Rahul joined the bandwagon by conducting Q/A sessions to interact with his fans.
Through his #AskRahul, several cricket enthusiasts got the opportunity to enquire about the Karnataka stalwart’s opinion.
One of the fans asked the obvious question of his all-time favourite batsmen. Rahul, now India’s limited-overs specialists, has rubbed shoulders with several prominent cricketing stars in both international as well as franchise cricket.
In the auctions before 2014 edition of IPL, Rahul was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for a price of INR 1 crore. He made a move to his home ground-based franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2016, where he started his IPL career in 2013 as a wicket-keeper.
However, he was surprisingly released from his beloved franchise, to be bagged by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) for a multi-million dollar contract.
In the mega-auctions of 2018, Rahul headlined with a whopping amount of INR 11 crores. Rahul paid rich dividends for the franchise by scoring the fastest half-century in the history of IPL, in just 14-balls.
Also, he was the second-highest scorer in the 2019 edition of IPL with as many as 593 runs in the tournament. Only behind Orange-Cap holder David Warner.
“Your all-time favourite batsman #askkl?” asked one of the users on Twitter. To which he went ahead and replied, “I think it is got to be @ABdeVilliers17.”

Both Rahul and AB de Villiers shared the same dressing room during their stint at RCB in the seasons of 2016 and 2017.
When asked about his favourite moment in his domestic career, Rahul named winning the Ranji Trophy in 2013-14 season the most cherished moment.

Further, Rahul chose RCB as his favourite franchise after KXIP. He was recently appointed as the captain of the Mohali-based franchise with the departure of skipper Ravichandran Ashwin.
