Former India skipper MS Dhoni had done wonders for Team India as a leader, amongst his so many brilliant tactics, one thing that he brought in the team was a ‘fielding’ culture. Although, before Dhoni, there were few names like Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif who actually initiated the process and made Indians realise that fielding is an equally important aspect but the majority of players during that time were not quick in the outfield.
The credit for preparing the whole team to work hard in the fielding department goes to MSD and the glimpse of it was seen in the 2013 Champions Trophy in England when Indian team showed a completely different avatar and fielded better than any other side.
The legacy of such has been continued by Virat Kohli as well. He himself is a terrific fielder and often motivates his players to make an extra effort in the outfield. Apart from Kohli, the Indian team has a gun fielder in the form of Ravindra Jadeja. The all-rounder has single-handedly changed the entire dynamics of fielding. From run-outs to unbelievable catches, one could see Jaddu everywhere. But who amongst Kohli and Jadeja is the best? Well, the Indian skipper has himself answered and ended the debate.
It all happened when the official Instagram handle of StarSports asked the cricket fans to pick the best fielder between Kohli and Jadeja.
“If you had one shot at hitting the stumps to save your life, who would you choose to throw for you – Jaddu or Virat?,” StarSports’ Instagram handle wrote.
Numerous fans responded to the post, choosing their favourite. Some went for Kohli while some took the name of Jadeja. However, one reply captured all the attention, and it came from none other than Kohli himself. The 31-year-old ended the debate and named Jadeja as the best fielder. Kohli said he would pick the Indian southpaw every time.
“Jaddu. Every time. End of debate,” replied Kohli.
