Last month on April 12 2020, Indian Tennis superstar Sania Mirza and veteran Pakistani batsman Shoaib Malik celebrated their 10 years of togetherness. The celebrity couple got married in 2010, and they got blessed with a son in 2018, named Izhaan.
Recently, Sania participated in a chat show hosted by Pakistan’s famous sports presenter Zainab Abbas. The first-ever Indian woman to reach considerable heights in Tennis faced several questions and revealed many exciting things related to her life.
Sania was asked to disclose one annoying habit of her husband Shoiab to which the Mumbai-born said that she doesn’t like when Shoaib keeps silent whenever the pair get engaged in an argument. Sania stated that she wants to chat about something regularly, but Shoaib is completely opposite as he doesn’t speak too much which the Indian Tennis star doesn’t like at all.
During the conversation with Zainab, Saina was also asked to reveal how did Shoaib proposed to her. Named as one of the “33 women who made India proud” by The Economic Times in March 2010, Sania said that Shoaib directly asked her to get married.
“A few months after we started seeing each other, he basically told me that ‘Look I want to marry you. I will come to meet your family, and you tell me when you want to get married because I want to marry you. So let me know if it’s a yes’,” said Sania.
However, Sania got impressed as she thought it was a display of quite real feelings and raw emotions. The former singles Tennis player said that she was really impressed with Shoaib for not pretending to be something he was not.
“I actually found that extremely real because I felt that there was no pretence in that. It was literally just raw emotion, and he felt it, and he just said it. That probably attracted me towards him so much because he is not pretentious when it comes to things like that. Going down on the knees and putting heart shape things is just not his style. He is simple,” added Sania.
