West Indies speedster Kemar Roach, who is one of the most talented fast bowlers in world cricket, has troubled some of the best batsmen of their era with his fast action, hostility and tremendous pace.

The Barbadian-born cricketer has been West Indies’ top-class performer over the years across the formats and is still delivering for the team. Since making his international debut in 2008, Roach has featured in 56 Tests (193 wickets), 92 ODIs (124 wickets) and 11 T20Is (10 scalps).

Roach may have bothered many bests in business so far, but recently he revealed that there is one batsman who troubled him the most in the longest format of the game.

The Caribbean speedster has named former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis as the toughest batsman he has ever bowled to, saying the Proteas legend was technically very solid in his approach and it made really tough for any bowler to get through him.

Roach, recently, interacted with Cricket West Indies (CWI) an Instagram Live and there he admitted that Kallis was the hardest batsman he has ever bowled to in red-ball cricket.

“Hands down, I would have to say, Jacques Kallis,” on being asked to name the most difficult batsman he bowled to in Tests.

The pacer further added, “He (Kallis) was definitely one of the tougher for sure. He was very technical very solid in his approach. He (Kallis) played it very easily, especially in the home series in 2010. He is probably the hardest batsman I have ever bowled to.”

In his international career, Kallis played over 519 matches scoring 25,534 runs and bagged 577 wickets. That also put him in the league of best all-rounders. When he hung up his boots in 2014, he had scored 62 tons across all formats.

Meanwhile, all the cricketing events have come to a standstill due to the outbreak of coronavirus. But if everything goes as planned, West Indies will go to lock horns against England in a three-match Test series in July.

But that looks highly unlikely. For now, there is no confirmation if the T20 World Cup, slated to be held in October, will take place or not.

In fact, there are talks of holding the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the window slated for the T20 World Cup, which has been opposed by Australian legends like Ian Chappell and Allan Border.
