Amid worldwide lockdown caused due to coronavirus, cricketers are heading towards social media platforms in order to entertain and interact with their fans and admirers. In the process, Team India captain Virat Kohli engaged in a funny banter with former England skipper Kevin Pietersen after the former posted a picture on his Instagram account.
In the photo, Kohli was seen in his traditional beard look.
Many fans replied to Kohli’s post and filled it up with delightful comments. However, former English superstar Pietersen had some other plans. The British-South African cricketer tried to troll Kohli by asking the 31-year-old to shave his beard off.
However, the Indian stalwart was in no mood to take Pietersen’s comment. Kohli gave a stunning and hilarious response which left his followers in splits. The Delhi-born said that his throwback picture is better than Pietersen’s Tik-Tok videos.
It is not the first time Kohli and Pietersen have been involved in a banter regarding the former’s beard. About a month ago, Kohli had shared a video in which he was seen trimming his beard and gave himself a new look. He had also challenged his fans to do the same.
“While we’re all indoors, it’s extremely important to do stuff that makes you feel good. Staying well-groomed is one of the things that keeps me in the zone. So I thought of trimming my beard at home and giving myself this new look,” Kohli had captioned the video.
Pietersen had then asked Kohli whether this process gets rid of his grey hair.
“Does it get rid of your grey there buddy,” Pietersen had written while reacting to Kohli’s post.
Kohli was supposed to lead his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2020 edition of the cash-rich league, but due to COVID-19, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was forced to postpone the 13th season of IPL for an indefinite period.
