Former India captain MS Dhoni was expected to play for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 but due to Coronavirus outbreak, the BCCI was forced to suspend the 13th season for an indefinite time. Dhoni fans, however, are still hopeful to see their favourite star’s return.
Last time, Dhoni donned the Indian jersey was in World Cup semifinal game against New Zealand. Since then, questions have been raised over his future. In fact, the speculations over Dhoni’s future further strengthened after the BCCI did not keep him in the centrally contracted players list.
Recently, #DhoniRetires started trending on Twitter, which left Dhoni’s fans in shock. However, Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi, took to the microblogging site to end all such rumours.
“Its only rumours! I understand Lockdown has made people mentally unstable! #DhoniRetires .. Get a life! ” tweeted Sakshi.
However, as soon as her tweet went viral on the internet, Sakshi deleted it. Now she has finally opened up about her tweet. In a chat with sports presenter Rupha Ramani, Sakshi stated that she got to know about the hashtag from one of her close friends and thereafter she decided to put an end on the rumours.
“One of my friends messaged me asked me what is going on? That hashtag (#DhoniRetires) has been trending since afternoon. I was like what is it, then I don’t know something happened to me, and it happened (the tweet) I deleted it, but the job was done, the message was put out,” Sakshi said during a live Instagram session.
The CSK captain’s better half also revealed what Dhoni has been doing amid the lockdown. She explained that Mahi is assembling his bikes, and so far he has assembled of them.
“Mahi has assembled about seven bikes; he has restored them. Old bikes actually, he opened them up, he bought parts and assembled it. He was assembling a bike, he assembled it, but I don’t know he forgot to put a part and the bike was not starting. So he had to open the whole thing next day,” added Sakshi.
