The unorthodox action, ability to bowl toe-crushing yorkers along with outstanding accuracy, has made Jasprit Bumrah a star bowler. One can say that no other cricketer has made as much progress than him. Over the years, India’s frontline bowler has developed into one of the most feared bowlers in modern-day cricket.

Though a good amount of credit goes to Mumbai Indians (MI) – an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise – where Bumrah has learned all the tricks. He there learned the art of inch-perfect yorkers from Sri Lanka’s veteran pacer, Lasith Malinga.

Recently, Jasprit Bumrah heaped praises on Malinga and termed him as the best yorker bowler in the world.

“Malinga is the best yorker bowler in the world, and he used it for such a long period of time to the best of his advantage,” said Bumrah as posted by MI on Twitter.

The Ahemdabad-born speedster also gave his views about cricket post the COVID-lockdown. Bumrah admitted that he is not aware of how his body will react once he returns to the field.

“I’ve been training almost six days a week, but have not bowled for a long period of time. So I don’t know how the body will react when I bowl the first ball,” added Bumrah.

A few days ago, Bumrah had participated in an ICC podcast featuring internationals Ian Bishop and Shaun Pollock, where the 26-year-old had said he feels most comfortable bowling with the Dukes ball manufactured in England compared to India made SG.

“I love bowling with Dukes. It seems it swings, so basically, when you have a little bit of help, it does help as it is difficult to be a fast bowler with grounds getting shorter and wickets getting flatter,” Bumrah had said.

“So if the ball does something, it becomes even more competitive. So you feel you are in the game. With no help, you only have few things to play with. So I enjoy bowling most with the Dukes ball. I always want to bring new things. My different action, maybe once or twice people will be surprised, but they will find you out. So you need to improve and keep on evolving,” Bumrah had added.
