Former India captain MS Dhoni is widely acknowledged for his calmness and composure. Hardly has anyone seen him losing his temper on the field. Probably that’s the reason why Dhoni is called ‘Captain Cool’ by his fans.
Recently, veteran cricketer VVS Laxman hailed Dhoni and said MSD’s calling card has always been his composure under pressure-cooker situations.

Now, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, who is also known for having similar qualities like Dhoni, heaped praises on the Ranchi-born cricketer. Williamson showered praiseworthy comments on Dhoni while taking part in Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’.
During the chat, the North Islander said, “You might finish a series and try and have a quick chat and find the secret, but he (MS Dhoni) seems to take it in his stride and appreciates the game”.
Williamson stated that the 2011 World Cup-winning skipper, is very attentive and an extraordinary individual.
“He (Dhoni) seems to remember what is essential, and not get too caught up with some of those things that may be distracting, very focused on what’s important. He is an exceptional individual,” the 29-year-old added.
Apart from Williamson, senior wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik also featured on the same show, where he revealed that Dhoni has been calm and relaxed since the beginning.
Recalling the 2003-04 season of playing for India A, Karthik said: “In 2003 or 2004 when I went for my first (India) A tour with him, he was pretty much an easy-going, chill, relaxed character that’s what you see as well.”
“The only difference you see is a lot more white hair now, but inside, he’s pretty calm,” he added.
Karthik stated that he hadn’t seen Dhoni losing his temper or showing anger at all.
“I haven’t seen him angry that often or I haven’t seen him express his anger explicitly outside too often. So, he’s been pretty much the same,” Karthik added further.
Dhoni made his debut in 2004, and in 2007 he became the captain of the young Indian team leading his side to a historic T20 World Cup victory. He then took over the captaincy in all the three formats and took India to new heights.
In 2011, under Dhoni’s leadership, India won the 50-over World Cup after 28 years. Then, In 2013, India conquered the Champions Trophy as well. Last time, the 38-year-old was seen donning the Indian jersey in the 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand.
