One year ago on June 10, 2019, former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh had bid farewell to international cricket. He served Indian cricket for 19 long years. Last year, all of a sudden Yuvi’s retirement news hit the corners and caught Indian cricket fans by surprise.
In his departure video, Yuvraj had reminisced his journey as a young kid who started playing the captivating game only because he was afraid of his father.
“Cricket has given me everything, and that’s the reason why I am standing here today. It’s been a love-hate relationship with the sport in retrospect. At this age, I can manage some kind of fun cricket. I am going to go and enjoy my life,” the Chandigarh-born had said in his retirement speech.
Post-retirement, Yuvraj continued to show his magic in primarily overseas franchise-based leagues like Global T20 Canada.
On Wednesday, Yuvraj’s fans recalled the day and began hashtag ‘Miss You Yuvi’ on micro-blogging website Twitter. Fans went down memory lane to remember some of Yuvraj’s most exceptional performances in the limited-overs format in India colours.
We miss the hitting machine duo Yuvi-Mahi . We miss you Yuvraj. All-rounder on field, and off field, you’ve left an indelible impression on us all.

After receiving so much love and affection Yuvraj too, was stunned and moved by the responses. He thanked his supporters for their passion by issuing a heartfelt note.
“Dear fans, I am overwhelmed and full of gratitude! Cricket will always be my life, just as each of you will always be an irreplaceable part of me. As responsible citizens, let’s continue to follow the govt’s instructions on Covid-19 & do our very best to help those in need!” tweeted Yuvraj.
