Former Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds, who celebrated his 45th birthday on Tuesday (June 9), immediately won the hearts of the viewers with his presence in the house of ‘Bigg Boss’ during Season 5. He was quite entertaining in the house and even grooved to Bollywood numbers.

The burly Queenslander appeared as a guest in the Bigg Boss house and was accompanied by Pooja Misrra as a translator. The two-times ODI World Cup winner was a part of the Bigg Boss set up for 11 days and gave fans some entertaining moments despite not understanding Hindi. In one such episode, Symonds got a chance to propose to two of his housemates. And, if that wasn’t all, he proposed to Pooja and Shonali Nagrani in true desi filmi style.

Later in the same episode, Symonds proposed to Juhi Parmar singing ‘Aati Kya Khandala’. With his imperfect English, he instead sang ‘Aati Kya Rundaala’.

In a chat with a leading news agency back in 2011 after exiting the Indian reality television game show, Symonds revealed that he had a satisfying stay in the house and learnt how to make ‘roti’ and Indian curries. The former IPL winner also said that he made a couple of new friends and had a fascinating experience living with the Indian people and learning how sensitive and passionate they are.

Symonds added that he learned the importance of his family, friends and simple things in life that people generally take for granted.
