To make matters interesting with no prominent cricketing action, former England captain Michael Vaughan has compiled a lineup of eleven bald cricketers.
There he made some fascinating choices for inclusions and exclusions. At the opening slot, Vaughan went ahead with legendary England batsman Graham Gooch and paired him up with South African swashbuckler Herschelle Gibbs.
Following Gibbs, was his Protea teammate Hashim Amla who also sported a bald look throughout the entirety of his career.
Coming in after the two South African batting stalwarts was Australian middle-order batsman Darren Lehman.
Lehmann played in shadows of Andrew Symonds, Michael Bevan and other stars in the world-beating Australian side. However, Lehmann enjoyed a successful stint as the coach of the Australian team later.
To take guard after Lehmann, it was former England middle-order batsman Jonathan Trott. Vaughan appointed Brian Close as the captain of the side.
For the wicket-keeping duties, he appointed his former teammate Matt Prior. Interestingly, there was no place for World-Cup winner Moeen Ali in the lineup.
The bowling lineup appears formidable with the likes of Doug Bollinger and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan sharing the new ball attack.
Further, the only spinner in the lineup is Nathan Lyon. Vaughan had a tossup between Jack Leach and Chris Martin at the number eleven slot. Throughout the entire list, there was no place for any Indian cricketer.
Here’s a look at Michael Vaughan’s Bald XI:
Graham Gooch, Herschelle Gibbs, Hashim Amla, Darren Lehmann, Jonathan Trott, Brian Close (C), Matt Prior, Doug Bollinger, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Nathan Lyon, Jack Leach/Chris Martin.
