Amid coronavirus pandemic followed by worldwide lockdown, just like the others, cricketers too are spending time at their homes. But even staying at home doesn’t seem to be safe enough as recently veteran South Africa fast bowler, Dale Steyn has revealed a shocking story.
The Proteas speedster said that three break-in attempts have been made at his house since Friday amid the lockdown. Steyn also stated that one such incident scared “the hell out of” his mother. The 36-year-old took to microblogging website Twitter to disclose an awful experience.
“3 attempted break-ins since Friday at my house. Yesterday they destroyed my friends’ car and tonight scared the hell outa my mom who was alone at home,” tweeted Steyn.

Earlier, during a chat session with former England captain Kevin Pietersen, Steyn had said that people would have to take care of each other under these unusual times.
“It is a test for us, the time when people have to take care for each other, but they are at the beaches, I mean what are they doing, there must be a reason why that is happening,” Steyn had said.
The Phalaborwa-born is highly regarded as one of the finest pacers of all time. Steyn had announced his retirement from Tests last year to focus on limited-overs cricket. He took 439 wickets in 93 Tests at 22.95. In the recent series against England, Steyn received a recall to South Africa’s Twenty20 squad.
Steyn has been an extraordinary bowler, and he experienced his best days under Graeme Smith’s captaincy. He remained the No. 1 Test bowler for 2,358 days between 2008 and 2014 when Smith was the leader of the rainbow nation.
