Unlike England and West Indies cricketers, others around the world, are on a forced break from the game due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. English and Caribbean cricketers have started preparations for their upcoming Test series which is scheduled to begin from July 8.

Meanwhile, other superstars of the captivating game are spending time on social media platforms in order to interact with their fans and followers. Some cricketers are constantly posting updates regarding the latest happenings in their life. Following the bandwagon, Indian captain Virat Kohli took to Instagram on Thursday to share a glimpse of how he is spending his time at home.

Kohli posted a picture of him reading a book and enjoying the weather as he experienced his first proper Mumbai Monsoon.

“Great weather in Mumbai. Sitting out enjoying the beginning of my first proper experience of Mumbai monsoon. Couldn’t be a better time to start reading something,” Kohli captioned the image on Instagram.

Fans, as usual, were quick to respond with lots of lovely messages. Even some current and former cricketers also reacted to Kohli’s post. His Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate AB de Villiers showered praiseworthy comment. The former Proteas skipper wrote “sophisticated” while responding to Kohli’s post.

Kohli, De Villiers and Warner were all supposed to play in 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) which was scheduled to begin from March 29 this year, but due to COVID-19 followed by the worldwide lockdown, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was forced to suspend the 13th season of the lucrative league for an indefinite time.

However, recently BCCI President Sourav Ganguly did come up with the latest update indicating that the apex cricketing board in India is exploring all options to make sure IPL takes place in 2020. Ganguly even gave hints that the cash-rich league may take place behind closed doors.

“The BCCI is working on all possible options to ensure that we are able to stage IPL this year, even if it means playing the tournament in empty stadiums,” Ganguly had written in the letter as quoted by ET.

“The fans, franchises, players, broadcasters, sponsors and all other stakeholders are keenly looking forward to the possibility of IPL being hosted this year,” the former India captain had added.
