Indian pacer Mohammad Shami has finally returned to practice in the nets after a more than three months’ break due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While international teams like England, West Indies and Sri Lanka have started outdoor training, the cricketing activities are at a standstill in India due to the daily increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases. However, Indian players like Cheteshwar Pujara, Ishant Sharma and Rohit Sharma have returned to practice in individual capacities.

The 29-year-old Shami has also started bowling in the nets at his farmhouse since last month and keeps sharing videos of his practice sessions on his social media handles.

On Thursday, Shami once again shared a short video clip while bowling to his brothers at his hometown Amroha in Uttar Pradesh.

In the video, the Indian speedster can be seen bowling in good rhythm while practising his in-coming and away-going deliveries. Looking at his stride and wrist position, he didn’t look rusty at all despite being out of action since the New Zealand tour earlier this year.

“Quality practice session at my farmhouse, all brothers together,” Shami captioned the video.

Mohammed Shami will look forward to the tour of Australia:

Shami would indeed be looking forward to the tour of Australia later this year, which will comprise of four Tests as well as limited-overs games. The paceman would be aiming to make a mark once move Down Under where he picked up 16 wickets in four outings in 2018-19 as India recorded a maiden Test series victory on Australian soil.

On the forthcoming occasion, it would be a litmus test for the Indian team as they will be up against David Warner and Steve Smith, who weren’t part of the Australian outfit last time. India’s defence of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin at the Gabba from December 3.
