The ongoing pandemic situation in the country has forced cricketers to stay indoors and acknowledge social distancing, in order to keep themselves safe.
Therefore, all action has now shifted online. Cricketers from both past and present, have engaged extensively with their fans, through the various social media platform.
Former Indian middle-order batsman Yuvraj Singh recently took to Instagram to keep his followers informed about how to keep themselves fit during such unprecedented times.
Yuvi was seen lifting the dumbbells and some heavyweights in his recent Instagram post, with blockbuster Rocky track ‘Eye of the Tiger’ from Survivors in the background.
After watching the short clip, former India teammates, Gautam Gambhir and Parthiv Patel left hilarious comments on Yuvi’s post.
“Must be very tired..one rep of each exercise… (laughing out loud emoji),” Parthiv wrote.
Soon Gambhir commented, “Seems like the lockdown has helped you gain some tummy prince.”
Both Yuvraj and Gambhir were part of India’s World Cup-winning campaigns in 2007 and 2011. Yuvraj had a phenomenal series with the bat in the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa.
Gambhir’s fine knock of 75 in the final helped India secure the maiden T20 World Cup title. Four years later, Yuvraj and Gambhir guided India to win the 2011 ODI World Cup, held in the Asian sub-continent.
Yuvraj ended up winning ‘Man of the Tournament’ title for his exceptional contribution with both bat and ball throughout the tournament.
Gambhir took India out of a spot of bother in the final of 2011 ODI World Cup, with his match-winning 97 off 122 balls. Both Gauti and Yuvi have now retired from international cricket.
