England and West Indies have resumed cricket after it was halted since March due to the coronavirus outbreak with a three-match Test series. But there is no action coming up for Indian cricketers in the recent future.
However, the likes of Suresh Raina, Mohammed Shami and Piyush Chawla have started training. On Saturday, Raina and Chawla reached Shami’s hometown Amroha where they hit the nets together at the latter’s farmhouse.
Raina even shared the video of training with Shami and Chawla on his Twitter handle.
“When you nailed your practice this week and ready to enjoy the weekend practice with none other than @MdShami11 & Piyush Chawla. Keeping the momentum going! Good start to the weekend! Enjoy the little victories, Happy weekend!” the southpaw captioned his post.

If not for the COVID-19 pandemic, all three cricketers would have plied their trade for the respective franchises in the IPL. Raina and Chawla would have been playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) while Shami would have turned out for the Kings XI Punjab.
CSK secured the services of leggie Piyush for a sum of INR 6.75 crores – the highest price for an Indian player in the 2020 IPL auction.
Talking about IPL, the 13th edition of the tournament being played entirely in the UAE is now a distinct possibility, and according to EspnCricinfo, the BCCI has earmarked a tentative window between September 26 and November 7 for it.
The BCCI will take a final decision once the ICC announces the likely postponement of the Men’s T20 World Cup, scheduled between October 18 and November 15 in Australia. The ICC is scheduled to have a call on July 20 to discuss the matter, and a final decision on the T20 World Cup is likely to be taken then. It is understood that the BCCI has written to the Indian government seeking permission for the IPL to be shifted to UAE and also get the necessary travel permission for the players and officials of all the eight teams.
