Australian opening batsman, David Warner is widely known for his explosive batting. He likes to take bowlers to the cleaners. Apart from punishing the bowling attack, Warner is also popular for engaging in social media banters. The ‘pocket dynamite’ more often than not tickles fans’ funny bone with his humour and epic comebacks on social media.
On Saturday (August 01), Warner again showed his fantastic sense of humour. He took a hilarious jibe on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) – an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise – when a fan claimed that RCB could win the upcoming season of IPL.
It all happened when Warner shared a picture of the IPL trophy on his Instagram handle. He captioned the photo with a question to his fans, asking them to drop thoughts on who would lift the title of IPL 2020.
Fans were quick to respond and started picking their favourite teams. Majority of admirers picked Warner’s IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). One user named Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to which the New South Wales cricketer said it would be hard to beat KKR.
Another fan picked RCB as the winners of IPL 2020, but that grabbed the attention of Warner, and the Aussie didn’t miss the opportunity to take a humorous dig at the Bangalore-based franchise. The southpaw asked the fan if he ‘really’ believes that RCB can win the title.
IPL 2020 was supposed to begin from March 29 early this year, but due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) postponed the 13th edition of the lucrative league. And now after ICC decided to cancel T20 World Cup 2020, BCCI announced to organise IPL in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) which will begin from September 19.
