Many Indian cricketers, these days are currently staying at their home and spending quality time with family as the cricketing action in the country is suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In the meantime, Ravindra Jadeja, who is also staying at his home in Rajkot, has grabbed the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The top-quality all-rounder got involved in an argument with a female cop in the city on Tuesday night for not wearing a mask.
According to a report in the Times of India, Jadeja was stopped by the female constable, Sonal Gosai, for not wearing a mask inside his car while driving with his wife, Riva Solanki. But soon, things turned ugly, and the cricketer got involved in a war of words with the lady constable after he was asked to pay the penalty.
Not only that, but Jadeja was also asked for his license by the female cop while she questioned him for not wearing a mask. Though, it remains uncertain whether his wife Riva was also sitting in the car without a mask.
The Indian cricketer enlightened the police about the episode stating that Gosai behaved rudely with him and no charges were pressed against each other by either side. However, Gosai later got herself admitted in a private hospital after complaining of stress.
Regarding the incident, the Deputy commissioner of police Manoharsinh Jadeja has issued his statement as well. He said that both Jadeja and the cop have accused each other of rude behaviour.
“Jadeja and the constable both have accused each other of rude behaviour. There is no formal complaint from either side. As per my information, Jadeja was wearing a mask, and we are investigating whether his wife was wearing or not,” said the deputy commissioner.
Jadeja is all set to join the cricket pitch again as the 2020 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) gets underway from September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The left-handed cricketer will be joining Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) training camp in India before flying to the UAE.
